    Report on the feasibility of establishing a Medical Excellence Zone Program to allow citizens of the Commonwealth living in rural underserved areas to receive medical treatment via telemedicine services as defined in § 38.2-3418.16 of the Code of Virginia, including the criteria that would be required for a locality or group of localities in the Commonwealth to be eligible for the designation as a medical excellence zone. [Reporting requirements of Chapter 236, Enactment Clause 1., of the 2020 Acts of Assembly, are identical.]

    PLEASE NOTE: Pursuant to § 4-8.01 of the 2020 Appropriation Act, the Office of the Governor has granted an extension date until January 1, 2021 for the delivery of the report mandated by Chapter 368 of the 2020 Acts of Assembly due to the demand on Department of Health staff resources posed by the response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
