Executive Summary:
Summary of the Department of Environmental Quality's (DEQ's) completion of one of the recommendations contained in the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Commission's (JLARC) "Report on Waste Reduction Efforts in Virginia"(2008). In its report, JLARC recommended that DEQ "determine the funding needs of local recycling and litter prevention efforts and report the amounts needed to fully fund each to the General Assembly by the 2010 Session. The General Assembly may wish to consider creating a separate fund from which to provide grantfunding for local recycling efforts. "
