RD276 - Virginia Military Family Relief Fund (VaMFRF) 2010 Annual Report

1. The Virginia Military Family Relief Fund provided 36 awards during the period of October 1, 2009 to September 30, 20 IO. The Fund awarded 36 grants in the amount of $2,500.00 or less. The total amount awarded for FYI 0 was $36,944.17. The balance available in the fund for future disbursements is $375,125.23.

2. Deployment numbers in 08/09 were higher than expected and have slowly been declining through FYIO because of the deployment cycle. However, in FY 11 because of an increase in large deployments, the Virginia Military Family Relief Fund expects to see an increase in the amount of applicants due to the higher number of Soldiers and AilTI1en that will qualify to apply for the loan. Fund Administrators in the Virginia National Guard have also been utilizing other state and local resources to meet the immediate needs of the families.
