HD15 - Report on Issues Related to the Use of Implantable Medical Devices Pursuant to Chapter 351 (2014)
Executive Summary: Pursuant to Chapter 351 of the Virginia Acts of Assembly for the 2014 Session (HB 1235/Senate Bill 536): the Virginia Department of Health Professions solicited public comment on the issues related to the use of implantable medical devices distributed by distributors in which a physician has an ownership interest (PODs). The Board of Health Professions Regulatory Research Committee aided the Department through convening a public hearing on May 20, 2014 and receiving written comment until June 20, 2014. This report provides a compilation of the public comment received during this period, including an overall summary, copies of the transcript, and the full written comments.
