RD98 - Virginia Racing Commission 2014 Annual Report

Executive Summary:
Pursuant to the provisions contained in the Code of Virginia Title 29, Chapter 59.1-369 (9) as related to horse racing with pari-mutuel wagering please accept the 2014 Annual report of the Virginia Racing Commission.

As you know, the revenue generated from a percentage of all pari-mutuel wagers made in the Commonwealth which include those made in-person at Colonial Downs or Great Meadow during the Gold Cup Steeplechase races, at a satellite wagering facility or through an Advanced Deposit Wagering company funds VRC operations. This revenue also enables us to meet our obligatory contribution to the General Fund as included in the Appropriations Act.

The Racing Commission remains steadfast in protecting the integrity of racing for those who participate and the enthusiastic customers who enjoy it. As always, we rely on the continued support of horse racing and the equine industry from you and your administration, as well as the General Assembly.

Respectfully submitted,
