RD65 - Executive Summary of the 2016 Interim Activity and Work of the Virginia Manufacturing Development Commission
Executive Summary: The Manufacturing Development Commission met October 5, 2016, at Prototype Productions, Inc., 21641 Beaumeade Circle, Suite 301, Ashburn, Virginia 20147. The Commission heard testimony and had discussions regarding (i) the machinery and tools property tax, (ii) weight limits for scrap and steel trucks, and (iii) the Virginia Streamlined Retail Sales and Use Tax Act, which was proposed in HB 969 by Delegate Glenn Davis, Jr., during the 2016 Session of the General Assembly. However, the Commission has no recommendations regarding those issues at this time. Accordingly, pursuant to § 30-276 of the Code of Virginia, I am writing to inform the members of the Virginia General Assembly that the Commission will not be recommending any legislation for adoption or examination by the Virginia General Assembly during the 2017 Session.
