Section 2.2-208.1 of the Code of Virginia establishes the School Readiness Committee, and directs the Board of Education to "review the recommendations of the Committee and submit to the Chairmen of the House Committee on Education and the Senate Committee on Education and Health, in advance of the next regular session of the General Assembly, any comments on such recommendations that the Board of Education deems appropriate."

The Committee did not develop final recommendations in 2017 for the Board of Education to consider, therefore there are no recommendations or related comments to transmit to the Chairmen prior to the 2018 General Assembly session.
