This report presents a summary of accomplishments by the Virginia Department of Forestry during fiscal year 2018 regarding the agency’s activities related to the protection of citizens, property and forest resources from wildfire; the protection, promotion and enhancement of forested watersheds, non-tidal wetlands and riparian areas; the stewardship, health and diversity of the forest resource; the conservation of the forest land base; and the promotion of the forest industry and diversified markets for forest landowners including ecosystem service markets.
