RD131 - Update on the Compulsory Minimum Training Standards for Law Enforcement Officers


Executive Summary:

Report on the review and update of all of the compulsory minimum training standards which are applicable to law-enforcement officers, including that the training standards appropriately educate law-enforcement officers in the areas of mental health, community policing, and serving individuals who are disabled, and, where appropriate, include consideration of, but not be limited to, the recommendations of the President's Task Force on 21st Century Policing. Current resources available to officers in dealing with situations related to mental health shall be identified, as well as what resources are needed.
