HD4 - Status of Women - Third Report

  • Published: 1976
  • Author: Virginia Commission on the Status of Women
  • Enabling Authority: Chapter 685 (Regular Session, 1970)

Executive Summary:

In this, our Third Report to the Governor and the General Assembly, the Commission is able to submit full reports and recommendations from several task forces. We feel that this is a real step forward from our report submitted in 1973.

We believe, however, that the recommendations contained in the 1973 report are still valid and hope that you have given, and will continue to give, them thoughtful consideration.

From its inception, the Commission has been hampered by inadequate funding. It is our sincere hope that the Governor and the Legislature will look favorably on the projected budget for 1976-1978 which has been held to what we feel is an absolute minimum if we are to continue to move forward.

We sincerely believe that the Commission has proved its worth and will continue its dedicated service to Virginia's women so that they may achieve their full potential.
