Executive Summary:
Fiscal Year 2006 Annual Report and Audit for the Virginia Resources Authority (VRA) in accordance with Section 62.1-222 of the Virginia Resources Authority Act. This report includes a complete operating and financial statement for the Authority as required by the Act. Goodman and Company was hired as an independent certified public accountant by the Auditor of Public Accounts to perform the Fiscal Year 2006 audit and they issued an unqualified opinion on the Authority’s financial statements.

As noted in the Annual Report, VRA provided over $250 million in investment in FY2006 through loans and grants to 55 communities across the Commonwealth for projects that ranged from water treatment improvements to road expansion to fire and rescue building renovations to regional jails. Since its creation by the General Assembly in 1984, VRA has supported over 700 such projects totaling more than $2.6 billion of investment in Virginia’s communities.
