RD339 - Annual Report on the Specialty Drug Program - November 1, 2012


Executive Summary:
Item 307 (T) (1) of the 2012 Appropriations Act directs the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) to modify the delivery system of pharmaceutical products to include a specialty drug program, in consultation with physicians, pharmacists, pharmaceutical manufacturers, patient advocates, the Pharmacy Liaison Committee, and others as appropriate. A copy of the Appropriations Act language is provided in Attachment A. This report responds to the requirement in Item 307 (T) (5) that the Department annually report on the cost savings and quality improvements achieved through the program.
