Executive Summary: The Virginia Marine Resources Commission (VMRC) is one of the oldest agencies within Virginia State government, serving the Commonwealth for more than a century. The agency's mission is to balance the demands of economic development, commerce, and recreation with the conservation and protection of Virginia's marine resources, aquatic habitats, and tidal waters for the benefit of current and future generations.
